WQLN Family Day at the Library
Family Day will be a fun and FREE day for the entire family that will begin at 11:00am with the "We Know A lot About That" story hour. Children's eyes will light up when they meet in person the real Cat in the Hat, Curious George, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. They'll hear original stories about the U.S. Brig Niagara, sing songs, and color and build their own replica of Perry's Flagship.
At noon, we'll have something for the older kids. WQLN and Perry 200 will host a colorful living Erie Hall of Fame scavenger hunt through the Blasco Library's mysterious stacks. We'll hunt down all 20 members of the Erie Hall of Fame, including the inventors of frozen foods, the American song, and the wind chill index-Erieites one and all! Cartoon representations of Erie Hall of Fame members will guide your family on a trail of discovery of the global contributions that have come from our port city.
Later in the day, it will be opera on the Bayfront when we show in HD the speculator 25th Anniversary production of The Phantom of the Opera at Royal Albert Hall, produced for Public Broadcasting by Great Performances.
